Birthday Bear

This was a fun card to make, once I figured out what I wanted to do.  I had been discussing marbling with another crafty friend and decided to attempt marbling with Tim Holtz’s alcohol inks; Jennifer McGuire posted an informative video here. I like the results using Tim Holtz watercolor paper, rather than those results using Yupo paper (not shown).  After marbling, I added some gold watercolor and let it dry over night.  After die cutting with a rectangle panel from Lawn Fawn, I also die cut the happy birthday phrase using a die from Simon Says Stamp.  The adorable bear is from Ellen Hutson’s Bear Ware stamp set; I used Staz-On black ink to stamp him and Versamark ink to stamp his hat & present (with added gold embossing powder to add a needed metallic element, ).  The final touch was decorating the inside of the card with a balloon & numbers cut from PaperTrey Ink dies.

Here is a list of supplies:

Stamps: All Inside Bear stamp from Ellen Hutson, Bear Ware from Ellen Hutson

Paper: Tim Holtz watercolor paper

Ink: Tim Holtz alcohol Ink, Staz-On black ink, Versamark Ink,

Other: Gold Peerless Watercolor,  Stampendous Pirate Gold Embossing Powder

Dies: All Inside Bear die set from Ellen Hutson, Balloon die from PaperTrey Ink, Number dies from PaperTrey Ink, Happy Birthday die from Simon Says Stamp, Rectangle die set from Lawn Fawn
