Pink & Main

Perfect Blend by Pink & Main

It has been such a long time since I made a shaker card, so I decided it was definitely time to use up some of the sequins I had been hoarding keeping!  It might not be obvious from my blog, but I do love to put some metallic element in almost each card.  Most of the time the metallic element ends up being gold.  I have had a years-long love affair with gold elements and it does not seem to be waning.  I promise to try my best to include other metallic families, but it is hard to stay away from gold!

I first die cut a rectangle piece out of white card stock and then cut the same piece with a circle die.  I turned the cardstock over and adhered a piece of acetate (enough to cover the hole) and then added a circle of double-sided adhesive foam and filled it with sequins.  To stabilize the card surround the inside foam circle with additional pieces of double-sided adhesive foam. Then adhere an additional panel of white cardstock to enclose the sequins and provide additional stability to the entire card.  I finally adhered a die cut vellum circle & a colored (copic colored- copics listed below) mouse from Pink & Main’s Perfect Blend stamp set with a gold die cut “hello” to finish off the card.  The entire front panel was then secured to a 5.5 inch by 4.25 inch gold card base.  Happy crafting- thanks for looking!
