Bubble Tea Day with Coffee Loving Card Makers!

Bubble tea

Happy National Bubble Tea Day!  Welcome to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers and Trinity Stamps Bubble Tea hop; if you’ve come from the lovely and talented Donna Lewis, you are in the right spot!

I had to research Bubble Tea, as I have never had one before!  The soft colors of the bubble tea with the bright colored “bubbles” on the bottom of the beverage really drove the color scheme of this card.  I used the Trinity Blendability brushes to add the tattered rose distress oxide ink to a panel.

Thereafter I splattered Martha Stewart pearl white paint and gold paint with a brush.

Finally I colored in images from the Winter Botanical stamp set with copics (R20, R30 & G43) before adhering them and some sequins to make a wreath.

One lucky person who comments on all the participating blogs by Wednesday, May 8th at 11:59 pm PT will win a $25 Trinity Gift Card! Woohoo! The winner will be announced on the CLC blog the following week. BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! Trinity Stamps wanted to give all of you a little something, so they created a limited edition Best-Tea’s digital stamp in honor of National Bubble Tea day! This digital stamp is available through the month of May only. If you create anything with our digital stamp, don’t forget to tag  #TrinityStamps so Trinity can see your creations!

Succulent with a Bokeh Background

Flower sunday

Recently the lovely designer Julie Ebersole demonstrated how to make a bokeh background on the Ellen Hutson blog here. She created a video here. I was so enamored with the look that I had to try it as well with the Trinity Stamps succulent banner stamp set.  Julie does such a wonderful  job explaining how to make the background, that I will only briefly describe it.

  1. Stamp the succulent banner, and create a mask to place over the image.  Place the mask over the image.
  2. I used Catherine Pooler inks: Tiara, Be Mine & Coral Cabana (but you can use whatever inks you have) with the Trinity Blendability Brushes onto Neenah Solar White cardstock.  Make any pattern you want, best is as random as possible.
  3. Using different circle stamps (or even an adhesive circle), stamp lightly all over with Hero Arts uniform white ink.  Overlap circles and use at least 2 sizes. (I also made a panel with vellum as shown below in the photo).
  4. blue vellum
  5. I splattered gold paint over the entire panel before removing the mask.
  6. Let dry for several hours or use a heat gun to dry it completely.
  7. I used some copics (R20 & R30) for the flowers and painted over the succulents with Catherine Pooler ink

Easter Tags

easter tags

Happy Spring! I can hardly believe that Easter is around the corner.  I decided to make a few Easter tags to adorn some of the Easter baskets I’m going to give to friends.

I have a large assortment of tag, large and small, white and colored.  While many companies have tag dies, I chose to use some small white tags from my collection.  I’ll admit, I’m pretty obsessed with the Winter Botanical stamp and die set.  I stamped several images in a very pale grey ink and die cut them.  I stamped the bow in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Wow sand dunes embossing powder.  I colored the other images with the copic markers G43, YG67, V22 and V25 as shown below.

I decided against putting a sentiment on the tag because I thought the simple look was elegant.  I’ll write Happy Easter on the back of the tag before I put it on an Easter basket.
