Keyhole Unbirthday Card

Today I have a keyhole card that opens up to reveal an “unbirthday” scene using the Alice stamp, Tea Party stamp, and Queen of Hearts stamp sets.

I had a Silhouette cut file that cut a keyhole in the front of the A2 card base as well as a keyhole outline.  I embossed a woodgrain A2 panel and then cut a keyhole into it as well. I put a piece of vellum behind the keyhole and thought that it would be fun to have it peek through to see the “unbirthday” party.  I stamped and heat embossed “A Very Merry Unbirthday to You” out of view of the keyhole.

Fitting all the characters I wanted provided a bit of difficulty and I didn’t like the way the peek looked, so I decided to add another white cardstock panel behind the vellum so the scene behind the keyhole wouldn’t show though.

I die cut all the images from the three stamp sets listed above and copic colored them. I  inked blended a bit of a background with distress oxide wilted violet ink.  I then adhered everything in place and finished with a sentiment from the Alice stamp set.

Monster Coffee Mug Card

Today I am sharing a card of a monster hugging a coffee mug.  I used several stamp and die sets to create this interactive slider card.

To make the card:

1. I die cut a card base and insert out of Neenah 110lb solar white cardstock using the Coffee Mug Card die set. I also cut the “coffee” sliver out of kraft cardstock using the same die set.  I ink blended a heart using the Layered Heart Stencil set with distress ink milled lavender and a Blending Buddy.
2. I created a monster with the Make a Monster die set, I tried to make it look like the monster on the mug and ended up using eyebrows to make hair!  I die cut a rectangle that would fit into the coffee mug insert to use as the shape of the monster- use anything you have- it just has to be able to slide in and out of the insert.  I adhered the entire monster to a rectangle shaped acetate piece to provide stability and to enable the monster to hid from view.
3. I stamped and die cut a monster from the Monster Love stamp set & die set, and copic colored him prior to adhering him to the card base.

NYC Traveler’s Notebook Layout

Today I have a traveler’s notebook layout with some new memory keeping stamps from Technique Tuesday.  Today I’m showcasing the new Good Times stamp set and Best Words Crafting die set.  It is also sold as a bundle here.

I documented a trip to New York City where I met my wonderful friend Alexia. She and I both took photos and shared them with each other; I believe that the ones that I am using today are ones that she took.  She is an amazing photographer and memory keeper! These 2 pages are really an ode to her- her favorite color is teal!

Did you know that you can emboss on washi tape?? I didn’t! I recently got a set of washi tapes from Altenew and decided the teal set would be perfect to use.  I placed strips of washi tape onto heavy 110lb cardstock and then either die cut words from them or heat embossed a word onto them with white embossing powder and then cut them with a banner die.

The layout itself is very easy, I added several paraphernalia from our trip amongst the 2 photos.  Finally I heat embossed the “Super Duper Happy” sentiment from the Good Times stamp set with some glittery teal Wow embossing powder and filled in the open space of Happy with a teal copic marker.

The Good Times stamp set had the perfect words to document this trip- as we had so much fun together.  Thank you for stopping by!

Heffy Doodle and Trinity Stamps Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Trinity Stamps Collaboration Blog Hop! Our design teams have come together to share some amazing inspiration featuring Heffy Doodle and Trinity stamps products, and there is a prize up for grabs, too!

I’ve made 2 cards today using products from Trinity Stamps and Heffy Doodle Stamps!  I love the critters from Heffy Doodle Stamps and wanted to use both the Purrfect Day stamp & dies and the Yappy Mail Stamps & dies paired with the super popular slimline die series from Trinity, the Slimline Card Series Scalloped Card Panels die set and the Slimline Card Series: Stitched Card Panels and Windows.

This card uses the Yappy Mail Stamps & dies, Hugs die, the Slimline Card Series Scalloped Card Panels die set and the Slimline Card Series: Stitched Card Panels and Windows.  This is an interactive card paired with a shaker element.  I have acetate in front of the all the windows, so that the recipient can put mail in the mailbox and the letter simply falls down to the lower window.  I’ve added a removable part in the bottom window so that all the mail can be “collected” and put in the mailbox again!  I’ve going to send this to a children’s hospital so that a child can have fun with the card over and over :).

This card is very similar to the first card in that the balls can be put in the cat house and they fall to the lower window; the only difference is that one can’t remove the balls from the lower window.  I used the Purrfect Day stamp & dies, Hugs die, the Slimline Card Series Scalloped Card Panels die set and the Slimline Card Series: Stitched Card Panels and Windows for this card.

Basket of Flowers Card

Spring is almost here and I decided that I wanted to make a floral basket with the beautiful flowers from Miss Ink Stamp’s Magnolia Sympathy stamp and Gardenia stamp sets.  This card can be an everyday card or adapted to be either an Easter card or Mother’s Day card!

To make the card:

1. I created an A2 card base out of Neenah 110lb solar white cardstock, and die cut a rectangular panel out of yellow Lawn Fawn Speckled paper. I had a basket die set from Lawn Fawn, but I only cut the bow and a partial basket from it.  The handle (cut from 2 circle dies) and trim on the bottom (a strip cut from the rectangle panel)  are all just what I happened to have in my stash.  You can totally just make a basket using dies that you already have!
2. I die cut and copic colored the gardenias and magnolias from the Magnolia Sympathy stamp and Gardenia stamp very simply and then added sparkle paste & sequins.  I spent most of my time working on the floral arrangement; don’t be afraid to spend quite some time on it, I often have to walk away from it and look at it later to make sure that I like it!

Flower Bookmark Coffee Mug Card

Welcome!  Today I’m showing a project that I made for Trinity Stamps new challenge- this month focuses on flowers.

To make the card:

1. I die cut a mug card base and inner gift card panel with the Coffee Mug Card die out of Neenah 110lb solar white cardstock.  I then did a partial die cut of the front of the mug out of a piece of acetate and a piece of blue vellum.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the Folded Hug stamp set on top of the acetate- this is a special acetate from Lawn Fawn which is a heavy weight acetate that won’t warp when a heat gun is applied to it!  I adhered the sides of the inner panel only to the card base and the top 2 layers to the front with double-sided adhesive 1/8 inch tape.
2. I used Ken Oliver watercolor paper (my new favorite) which is a heavy weight watercolor paper that can withstand quite a lot of moisture without warping (notice a trend here?).  I heat embossed the Love You Bunches stamp set image and then die cut it with the Love You Bunches die.  I also die cut a book mark from the Narrow Card and Bookmark Die with Envelope from Neenah 110lb cardstock that I will use later.
3. I had recently gotten some new Ken Oliver dry watercolors (grape jelly, jellybean green, coral crush & razzle berry) and I was itching to use them! I love having sparkly elements on my cards, so I made first made a solution of water with Ranger Perfect Pearls (Biscotti has a faint golden sparkle) and then used this solution to reconstitute each watercolor on an acrylic block as shown below.  Using a paint brush I applied color to the embossed image.
4. Once the image was dry, I adhered the bookmark to the back of the watercolored image as seen below.  I added some white gel pen markings to create some highlights on the flowers.
5. The bookmark slides into the inner panel as shown below:

Springtime Goat Slimline Card

Today I’m finally using my favorite Miss Ink stamp set, Punny Farm Goats.  I’ve paired it with the Springtime Banner stamp set to create a springtime slimline card.

To make the card: I die cut panels to create the backdrop for the scene using slimline dies from Trinity stamps.  The card base is 8 inches by 3.5 inches. I stamped all the goats and images with Memento Tuxedo ink and then cut all the images out with my ScanNCut2. I did minimal copic coloring, stamped a sentiment from the Decaf Background Stamp onto a banner, adhered all the die cuts and a few sequins.

Card for Somebunny Special

Today I’m using Springtime Banners and Springtime Bunnies to create a simple springtime card.

To make the card:

1. I die cut a banner and an A2 panel using cardstock papers from Lawn Fawn and adhered it to an A2 card base of Neenah 110lb solar white cardstock.  I punched 2 holes into the banner and put some glitter ribbon through it.
2. I die cut images and sentiments from the Springtime Banners and Springtime Bunnies stamp sets and copic colored them.  I adhered double sided foam adhesive  behind the banner and attached it to the A2 panel.  I added some glitter paste to the rose, adhered some gems and the card was done!
