Dee & Dum Pendulum Card

CBKApr26-2

I love making interactive cards and today I used the Smokin Caterpillars and Dee and Dum stamp sets to create a pendulum card.

To make the card:

  1. One circle was cut out of heavy weight cardstock (110 lb), acetate and foam with a 5 inch circle die and scored down the middle.  I used a craft knife cut an inch slit in the middle of this circle. I also die cut some grassy half circles out of green cardstock.
  2. I first adhered the grass layers together, then to a foam layer, then to the card base, then to another foam layer and then the acetate.  Having a foam layer allows the pendulum mechanism to freely move, which would not occur if you simply glued the 2 circles together.
  3. I kept the copic coloring of the images very basic, the leaves (G46, G43) and the mushrooms (W3, W00). The sentiment and images are from the Smokin Caterpillars and Dee and Dum Stamp sets.
  4. The pendulum mechanism is simply a penny hot glued to a thin rectangular strip of paper which is first threaded through the slit and then adhered to a circle.    Thereafter adhere the Dee & Dum image to the circle in the middle of the card.  Place some double sided adhesive foam on the rectangle panel with the doily to again give the pendulum mechanism the ability to work.
