Today I’m going to show a background die cut that can be used all year round. To do this simply pick the colors that are found in nature for that time of the year. Spring & summer (depending where you live) might bring a lot of greens, yellow & pinks; autumn might bring bronze, yellows & orange. Wintertime (at least for me) consists of light green, dark green, white and dark red.
Similar to my post using the egg die from Pretty Pink Posh a few weeks back, I love to use the positive and negative die cuts- this allows one to make multiple cards much more easily. Today I’m using a large background die cut from Altenew to create multiple backgrounds. Prior to cutting, I adhere double sided tape (in a sheet) to the cardstock- and voila- it is easy to put the cards together.
I’m even making a Christmas card using the dark green as the background (not shown here)- but these are examples of how to make a fall, spring or summer card. Altenew has done a fantastic job making a die that is super versatile and allows you even to layer the flowers by using the negative die cuts!
Here is one of the final cards:
I usually don’t add a sentiment until I know whom I am sending the card to. The sentiment die cut is from a recent My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts. Thanks for stopping by!
