Coffee Loving Cardmakers

International Tea Day with CLC

I’m celebrating National Tea Day with the CLC team with an A2 card that uses lots of products from My Favorite Things that you can purchase from Super Sponsor Ellen Hutson. I used the MFT Puppy Love dies, the Christmas Cheer Paper Pad, the Holly Berries Dies, Birdie Brown Alphabet & Numbers Die-namics, Sweet Snowflakes dies and a stamp & die set from Super Sponsor Lawn Fawn: Thanks a Latte (that has coffee and tea stamps & dies).

First I die cut all the puppy pieces from the MFT Puppy Love dies in different color cardstocks. I glued the pieces together as shown below to create a super happy puppy. I die cut the sentiment from copper metallic cardstock with the Birdie Brown Alphabet & Numbers Die-namics. The background cardstock from the Christmas Cheer Paper Pad was cut with a stitched rectangle die I had in my stash. I die cut the holly berries & leaves with the Holly Berries Dies out of red & green cardstock in my stash. The snowflakes and snow mound were cut with the Sweet Snowflakes dies out of glitter cardstock I had in my stash.

The tea cup was stamped copic marker friendly Lawn Fawn ink in crunchy leaf and colored with R14, R22 & YR27 copic markers.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope that you will enter our contest for National Tea Day! Wishing you a warm and happy day!

Trinity Stamps

Pop-up Bouquet Card

Christine#2

I just love interactive cards and several trips to Hallmark (some family members like store bought cards) showed that pop-up cards are even appearing at Hallmark!  I wanted  to make a pop-up bouquet of flowers using the Trinity Stamps Spring Fling Florals set with the bouquet in the center of the inside of the card.

Christine#4

  1. Not having a vase to place the flowers in, I made an “elongated” box with Lawn Fawn’s Mini-Pop-Up box die by die cutting the box out of vellum and out of cardstock.  I cut the tab off the vellum piece and first glued the vellum to the cardstock and then folded the entire thing into a box.  The die set also comes with tabs for the inside of the box.  I cut 2 large tabs and cut several long strips of acetate to glue all the flowers inside.
  2. I made an A2 card base with woodgrain cardstock from Lawn Fawn and glued a small paper doily in the center of the inside of the card. Subsequently, I die cut a larger panel out of vellum and a smaller panel of Lawn Fawn’s Spiffy Speckles paper for the front of the card.
  3. All the flowers from the Spring Fling Floral stamp and die set were stamped with a light grey ink and die cut. I copic colored (V20, V28, R32, R30, G43, Y21, YG13) all of the flowers and then some were heat embossed with Wow Powder (Sand Dunes) or with Zink embossing powder in “leaf green”.
  4. I had some special thin paper which is gold on one side and kraft on the other, which I simply folded to form the paper bag to hold a few flowers for the front of the card.  Green twine was used on the inside and outside of the card to create some simple bows.
  5. I die cut a “hello” from the Sentimini “Hello” die out of gold cardstock with the shadow die cut out of vellum.  A few embellishments from the Trinity store (Boiled sugar jelly drops and pink peony confetti mix) finished the front of the card.

Halloween Double Slider Card

Lawn Fawn current challenge is to “bling” it out!

LawnFawnatics_BlogBadge-bling-e1539569130398

While I definitely did not have enough time to add as much “bling” as I normally would (I looooove all things shiny and metallic), I added what I could so that I could get this card in the mail to my 2 nephews.  The squirrel with the knife & the adjacent pumpkin’s face makes me giggle every time I look at the photo.  Thank you Lawn Fawn for making such a cute stamp set!

Lawn Fawnatics Coffee Challenge

LawnFawnatics_coffee-treats-35-e1534623355266

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #35 is about coffee, tea & treats- I am in heaven!!!

So, surprisingly I decided to make a coffee card combining the Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel dies & Love You A Latte stamp set & dies.  I also used the LF Jump for Joy & LF Upon a Star stamp sets, but I used my Brother ScanNCut2 to cut out the images since I didn’t have the corresponding dies.  I used Lawn Fawn plaid paper, Simon Says Stamp shimmer paper and white cardstock for most everything else.  Copic coloring is my go to here, as one can quickly color the adorable critters in almost no time (I am definitely NOT an artist!).

Here is one view of the card:

And here is a slideshow of each turn of the Reveal wheel.

Reveal wheel inside a shadow box- Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #32

Today I am featuring a card I made for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge #32.  I was having a bad week, so I just decided that a crazy card idea might help pull me out of a funk.

LawnFawnatics_color-inspo-32-e1530374543522

I decided to put part of the reveal wheel inside a shadowbox.  I loved the idea of happy aquatic creatures diving into the ocean.  I die cut circle part of the reveal wheel out of acetate (normally this circle would be hidden and would display the sentiments as it is turned).  I cut the part where one would stamp the sentiments completely off, so that it would fit into the shadow box.

Here are the 3 diving creatures in their full glory- aren’t they cute?

There is nothing else special about this card- everything was die cut from the Lawn Fawn Shadowbox die & ocean add-ons as well as from the Lawn Fawn Sublime stamp set.

Thank you for visiting! Have a great day!

Lawn Fawn Challenge #29

LawnFawnatics_summer-inspo-29-e1526845365734

I love mood boards, and this one does not disappoint; there is just so much inspiration!  I decided to go with the ocean theme and use the Lawn Fawn “Sealed with a Kiss” stamp set & corresponding dies framed within the Lawn Fawn “Shadow Box Card” die set.

IMG_0453-2

I decided to keep this card simple and used heavy white cardstock to cut out the shadow box card.  I used the “hills” included in the original shadow box die set to cut waves from various blue-green hued paper scraps (please use whatever you have!).  I ordered the ocean add-on and it is on its way to me, so I’ll have to use that on a different card.  Finally I stamped “sealed.. with a kiss” in Distress Oxide Mermaid Lagoon ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder on vellum to create the sentiment.  Nuvo drops in clear on a piece of acetate cut to fit in the box, created the final touch.  Thanks for visiting!

Fairy Birthday

I decided to start entering cards into the Lawn Fawnatics challenges.  Above is my take on Challenge #28:

LawnFawnatics_card-sketch-28

I used the both Lawn Fawn fairy stamp sets (Fairy Friends & Frosty Fairy Friends) to create a scene.  First a die cut a large circle “window” with the Lawn Fawn Large Cross-Stitched Circle Stackables. I stamped the house from the Frosty Fairies set and then masked it prior to blending a bunch of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks.

Thanks for looking!
