Winter Coffee Blog Hop!

Winter Coffee Hop-CBK

Welcome to the 2018 Winter Coffee Blog Hop!  It was a no-brainer that I had to make a Christmas card with coffee cups. I happened upon a Starbucks image that is being used in their lastest sweepstakes, and used it for inspiration for the card I made.

Even though I am a Dunkin’ girl, I love all of the images & art that Starbucks tends to use for their advertising.

I used the fun Coffee with Character, Winter Botanical, and Magical Sentiments stamp sets.  Did you know that the Magical sentiments not only has phrases that pertain to our favorite Wizard & Muggles, but also holiday sentiments?  The lovely glitter sequins (red & gold) and white sequins, and so much much more are available in the Trinity Shop.

I die cut a snow globe (Trinity does not have one, but multiple companies out there do- use whatever you have!)  I copic colored stamped images from Winter Botanicals, and stamped “Happy Christmas” on a die cut banner (banners available from different companies- or make your own!).  I put a sheet of acetate in the frame, followed by double sided adhesive foam with a flurry mix from Trinity Stamps to create the inside of the snowglobe. Finally I cut up some puffy stickers from Crate Paper’s Merry Days scrapbook line to add a little metallic interest and dimension.

Trinity Stamps Scenic Paper Lantern Card

Lantern cbk

I have a video up on the Trinity Stamps YouTube today showing how to integrate a scenic paper lantern into a card.  The final product is a paper lantern folded and adhered to an A2 card base. I used a tea candle to light the inside of the lantern, but it could easily have accommodated a much larger candle.

This card requires 2 sheets of 80-110 lb heavy cardstock- I used a woodgrain embossed heavy cardstock from Lawn Fawn.  Use one sheet to create an A2 card base.  The other sheet should be cut in half width wise to have 2 sheets of 5.5 inch by 8.5 inch panels.  Likewise, a sheet of heavy weight vellum (I purchased some from Bazzill) was cut into 2 5.5 inch by 8.5 inch panels; the heavy weight vellum allowed me to heat emboss the adorable sentiment.

I die cut a window large enough to see the entire sentiment of the stamp in 3 of the 4 (4 inch sections of both panels). Overlap the duplicate panels together with the 1/2 inch side flaps (you might need to trim them down so they are not visible) and adhere with double stick adhesive tape (I avoided using glue as I didn’t want the paper to warp).

Stamp the sentiment with Versamark ink to the vellum panel that will feature the sentiment, apply your favorite embossing powder and heat set it. I also heat embossed the sentiment to a panel that I adhered to the front of the A2 card base.  Decorate as you wish (I die cut a hill and trees from the Trinity Stamps Castle Builder die set) and adhere to the card base inside the card.

In retrospect, I made the paper lantern large to fit the sentiment, but it made it more complicated as a result of it’s sheer size. I’m going to make a smaller one inside a card soon and will post the information here.

Welcome back!  Trinity Stamps is still celebrating their new winter release– the celebrations continue on Monday! Today I’m sharing details of how I made the card I shared yesterday. I used the Magical Wizards and Seasonal Silhouette stamp sets, along with Chibitronics, to create an interactive card that can be displayed.  All the details are in the video that I have posted here.

Welcome to the Trinity Stamps Blog Hop Release Day!  So excited to show you some of the new products that are being released today. There are so many awesome stamp sets and dies (7 stamp sets & 7 dies)- with something for everyone!  If you are a Harry Potter fan, you are particularly lucky today, there are 3 stamp sets & 1 die set.

I used the Magical Wizards and Seasonal Silhouette stamp sets, along with Chibitronics, to create an interactive card that can be displayed.

I wanted to make a shaker card that also lit up- kind of crazy- I know. So I decided to use Chibitronics to create a circuit within the card that lights up the star on the Christmas tree when you press on the area that houses the battery.  I left the connection very loose within the battery compartment, so that the battery would only be “on” position when you actually press down.  Pressing down enable the battery to touch all the copper tape and complete the circuit.  I’ll have a video on YouTube showing exactly how I made this!
